Elementary Education
Students have the opportunity to develop knowledge, understanding, skills and competencies for teaching kindergarten through grade 8 (K-6 or K-8 in self-contained classrooms). On completion of the associate’s degree and the bachelor’s degree, the student is prepared for a teaching position.
ACADEMIC TRANSFER PROGRAM
This program is designed for students who plan on earning an Associate of Arts degree from Northeast Community College and transferring to Wayne State College to earn their bachelor’s degree.
Successful transfer requires:
- Completion of an Associate of Arts degree from Northeast Community College with a 2.5 GPA or higher which fulfills the 100- and 200-level general education class requirement from Wayne State College.
- Completion of the program elective courses at Northeast Community College as listed below with a 2.5 GPA or higher which fulfills the Wayne State College program requirement and Nebraska Department of Education certification requirements.
There are four gateway requirements that must be met in order to complete the Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Meet with your advisor for further information regarding the gateways and the required Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST).
